Skeletal muscle properties in long COVID and ME/CFS differ from those induced by bed rest

This presentation compares the effects of prolonged physical inactivity with the biological changes seen in people with Long COVID and ME/CFS. The findings show that reduced exercise capacity and muscle abnormalities in these conditions cannot be explained by inactivity alone, highlighting distinct disease mechanisms and the need for rehabilitation strategies tailored to post-infectious illness.
