Higher neuroinflammatory activity on TSPO PET correlates with lower cortical thickness on MRI two years after SARS-CoV-2 infection

This presentation investigates the relationship between neuroinflammation and structural brain changes in people with Post-COVID syndrome. Using advanced PET and MRI imaging, the study shows that increased neuroinflammatory activity is associated with reduced cortical thickness in key brain regions, providing new insights into the neurological mechanisms underlying persistent symptoms and potential long-term brain health risks.
