Joining forces of symptoms and the epigenome: a comprehensive characterization of ME/CFS and fibromyalgia

This presentation investigates how epigenetic changes may contribute to the biological mechanisms underlying ME/CFS and fibromyalgia. By analyzing DNA methylation patterns in immune cells, the study identifies distinct molecular signatures linked to post-exertional malaise, cognitive dysfunction, and overall symptom burden, providing new insights into disease biology and potential biomarkers for more precise diagnosis.
