Study Protocol of a cohort study evaluating Mitochondrial Oxygenation (MONITOR-PEM) in Long COVID patients

This presentation investigates whether non-invasive monitoring of mitochondrial oxygenation can provide the first objective biomarker for post-exertional malaise (PEM) in Long COVID. By combining real-time measurements of mitochondrial function with clinical assessments and blood biomarkers, the study aims to improve the diagnosis of PEM and deepen our understanding of the biological mechanisms underlying Long COVID and related post-infectious syndromes.
